Street League – East Lothian

Street League deliver structured employability programmes that use football as an engagement tool to NEET 16-24 year olds.  We have received an Employability Fund contract from Skills development Scotland, so we will be delivering our programmes from Pennypit Community Centre and Astroturf in Prestonpans.

streetleagueWe will be delivering Stage 2 and Stage 3 programmes, where each participant will receive £55 per week training allowance and travel expenses.  SQA units in Personal Development – SCQF Level 3 (Stage 2), Leadership – SCQF Level 4 and Steps to Work – SCQF Level 4 (Stage 3) are also on offer as part of the programme.

The curriculum offered within these structured programmes provide in depth employability workshops which cover:-

  • Career planning (employment, apprenticeships, training, college, University)

  • Team Building Skills
  • CV Building
  • Communication Skills
  • Application Forms
  • Confidence
  • Interview Skills and Techniques
  • Job Searching
  • My World of Work

We will be running free taster sessions for any young person who is interested, starting on Tuesday 31st March (11am-1pm) at Pennypit astroturf.  These are a great opportunity for any young person to come along, get involved, get active and see exactly who we are and what we do.
