The Scottish Ornithologists’ Club, Aberlady
KYST is a solo exhibition by Ben Woodhams, a British artist living in Denmark, on the island of Bornholm. Every Friday in 2018, Ben walked a section of the coastline of Bornholm, making a record of the journey through sketching and painting. Walking from dawn to dusk, Ben was presented with constant change: the changing weather, the passing seasons, the arrival of migratory birds and tourists… As a slow and quiet observer, Ben recorded the passage of time and its effect on nature and people. The exhibition reflects the meditative nature of the project and is accompanied by a book.
The exhibition runs from Saturday 6th July until Monday 26 August 2019.
Ben will give a talk about his project on Saturday 6th July, 3pm, free, no booking required.

Getting there: The SOC is situated at Waterston House, in Aberlady, East Lothian. By car, just off the A198, on the left after the Aberlady sign, free parking. By bus: East Coast Buses 124, X24 and X5 stop almost at the door.

About Waterston House: Waterston House is fully accessible and houses a resource centre for bird-watching including a shop, the largest ornithological reference library in Scotland and an art gallery dedicated to wildlife art. The centre is open to all (members and non-members) daily free of charge.
