East Lothian seafood firm to make a splash at Edinburgh Food Festival

East Lothian’s Alandas Scottish Seafood Grill, Gelato and Fish & Chips is representing the region at this year’s Edinburgh Food Festival, which is taking place over 10 days at Assembly George Square Gardens, Edinburgh, 19th-28th July 2019.

Alandas, which is based in Prestonpans, offers a fish and chip experience; where fresh prawns, beautifully cooked salmon and mouthwatering fresh oysters are served every day.

All of the seafood used by Alandas is caught daily in local Scottish waters, including their freshly caught lobsters. Not only that, but Alandas tasty chips are made from locally-sourced potatoes, ensuring the flavour is perfect time and time again.

Alandas’ multi award-winning gelato is made with the freshest Scottish cream and milk, sourced from their local dairy in East Lothian. Handmade daily in their North Berwick parlour, the small batch made gelato includes quality local and seasonal ingredients.

Alanda Black, Owner of East Lothian’s Alandas Scottish Seafood, Alandas Fish & Chips, and Alandas Gelato, said:

“Edinburgh Food Festival is a brilliant showcase of food and drink producers across Scotland. Each year it’s great to see new food trends showcased and the large variety on offer, the quality of food is fantastic and there is something for everyone. It’s also the perfect family friendly event in a handy city centre location.

“We can’t wait to take part again this year with our selection of freshly caught Scottish seafood, old school fresh fish and chips and multi-award winning gelato. We look forward to welcoming more visitors than ever in 2019.”

Edinburgh’s only city centre food festival will be showcasing a range of international cuisine through a diverse and unique range of producers and street food stall holders, who will be serving up some of Scotland’s best contemporary food and drink over the 10-day event.

The free, non-ticketed festival welcomes around 25,000 visitors of all ages to Edinburgh’s Assembly George Square Gardens each year.
