East Lothian Ladies announces Leuchie House as their Charity of the Year 2020

Local networking group and business, East Lothian Ladies, has today announced a new partnership with Leuchie House as their Charity of the Year 2020.

East Lothian Ladies (ELL) started life as, and will always remain, a Facebook group dedicated to the wonderful ladies of East Lothian – sharing advice, recommendations, inspiration and support and learning about the amazing businesses that also call our amazing county home. Keen for local businesses to grow and thrive, and for all 13,250 members to feel valued, in 2019 the ELL team launched not only a website but also an exciting discount scheme, designed to even better achieve this aim. Members can purchase a unique ‘trolley token’ which secures them special discounts or offers from the group of over 40 discount partners who have so far signed up.

Leuchie House is Scotland’s only national respite charity dedicated to supporting people with long term conditions such as multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, the effects of stroke and Parkinson’s by giving them an invaluable holiday tailored to their unique needs. Enabled by 24-hour specialist care, Leuchie staff focus on giving guests an outstanding experience, based on their preferences and needs, irrespective of their condition. Importantly while doing this, Leuchie provides an essential break for carers, many of whom haven’t had a break in years.

Anna Thomson, Founder of East Lothian Ladies, said:

“We are now partnering with local businesses who are keen to spread the word among our members, and members themselves are loving the fact that they can secure discounts with a range of different products and services, from beauty treatments and fashion to carpet cleaning and careers coaching.

“Since we are ourselves a local business, we wanted to make sure we were giving something back to the community. We had a lovely year in 2019 with Karele Equine as our Charity of the Year and we are now excited to move forward by announcing Leuchie House as our new charity partner for 2020.

“Leuchie House relies on philanthropic support of many generous individuals, businesses and trusts or organisations to subsidise the cost of every break and so it seemed like an obvious choice. We will be donating five per cent of all our profits, plus £1 from every membership token sold, to Leuchie House throughout 2020.
