BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL.<\/p>\n East Lothian\u00a0Council\u00a0Museums Service\u00a0manages Dunbar Town House<\/a>, John Gray Centre<\/a> in Haddington and John Muir’s Birthplace<\/a> in Dunbar, all of which have free entry.\u00a0 Prestongrange<\/a> visitor centre at Prestonpans is currently closed but the expansive site is open to explore.\u00a0 The Coastal Communities Museum<\/a> run in partnership with the Coastal Communities Museum Trust is also free to visit.<\/p>\n At \u00a316 for adults and \u00a39.60 for children, entry to Edinburgh Castle could hardly be described as “frugal”.\u00a0 However, a family membership to Historic Scotland<\/a> might cost less than you think.\u00a0 An annual membership for 2 adults + children equates to \u00a37.04 (or\u00a0\u00a35.70 for concessions) per month by direct debit.\u00a0 This would give you unlimited access to all Historic Scotland sites including East Lothian gems such as Dirleton Castle<\/a>, Tantallon Castle<\/a> and Seton Collegiate Church<\/a>.
